The Kennedy Family

I can’t tell you how incredible it is to see people you’ve known through different stages of life become parents. I’m getting a little teary-eyed as I write this because of the amazing miracle it is to see the 19-year-old Michelle I once knew become a mom at this age and stage of life.

Over time, our conversations have shifted from in-person chats as roommates to Macro Polo (thanks, technology), but Michelle is the kind of friend I could call on a bad day and know she would be in my corner. 

Michelle is calm in chaos and one of the most resilient people I know. She is someone you want on your team. She loves people fiercely, and she embodies all that I imagine it means for a woman to have strength.

During this photography session with Michelle, Travis, Harper, and their dog Hondo, I paused multiple times to take in the sweetness of their life together. It is breathtakingly beautiful. Michelle laughed as she said, “Trav and Harper are besties, and I third wheel.”

I watched Trav with his little girl and saw him as a natural girl dad. No doubt he will be a really, really good dad. And Michelle will be a really, really good mom. Harper adores them both, but it’s safe to say nothing makes her smile more than her Crocs.
